Summary Statement

This portfolio was designed to demonstrate my skills working both individually and within a group environment. The artifacts selected were created in various formats which shows my ability to disseminate information across numerous mediums. I chose artifacts that clearly demonstrate my research skills using academic articles, news articles, and government websites in order to present a comprehensive understanding of the issue being investigated.

Though I am still researching and educating myself on many of the topics included in my portfolio, my goal is to contribute to the understanding of each subject and carefully consider its effect on public administration. Therefore, each topic I research is framed within the study of public administration and knowledge gained is used to create connections to other academic areas and ultimately, contribute to better public policy administration.

Finally, my portfolio ties together work created in my undergraduate Leadership in the Public Sector program, Master in Public Administration graduate program, eInternship with the Department of State, and experience as a Grant and Contract Officer in research administration. The variety of my educational and workplace experiences have provided me with opportunities to create many different examples of my work that demonstrate my ability to produce contributions to the understanding of the topic or issue at hand. Since my ultimate goal is to obtain a leadership position in public administration, I believe my experiences and work are preparing me to reach my long term career goals.
