Grants and Contracts Officer, Augusta University

​2014 - present

 

• Providing supervision of Grants and Contracts Specialists and assisting 15 departments with grant and contract duties.

• Responsible for assisting in the identification of funding, reviewing program guidelines prior to review of applications, and providing assistance in proposal development related to sponsor, institutional, and compliance requirements.

• Serving as liaison with Legal Office in contract review process, reviewing proposals and providing institutional sign-off, receiving notice of award from sponsors, requesting account numbers from Postaward Staff, and providing training to faculty and departmental administrative research staff.

• Additional duties:

      o Performing oversight of fiscal and administrative compliance issues as well as being a liaison with sponsors on behalf of the institution and the investigator relative to matters that require sponsor prior approval.

     o Providing knowledge and expertise on proposal and budget preparation, contract and subcontracting negotiations, and rules and regulations of state, federal, and other sponsoring agencies;

     o Preparing grant and contract proposals; serving as a liaison between investigators and administrators and the agency officials; disseminating sponsored research information to faculty, department chairs, deans and research administrators; providing leadership and training regarding the requirements of sponsored program activity;

     o Coordinating with post-award, developing fiscal and programmatic reports; maintaining two internal tracking databases for preparing reports; participating in institutional, regional, and national workshops and seminars; and other duties as assigned
